How to use Repeat Text
- 1. Type or paste the text to repeat. Enter the word, phrase, or block you want duplicated, such as a placeholder string for a test fixture or a short chant for a design mockup.
- 2. Set Times to the number of copies. Enter how many repetitions you need in the Times field. Ten copies might fill a sample dataset, while a few hundred could stress-test a text field's length limit.
- 3. Pick how copies are separated. Choose Newline to stack copies as separate lines, Space to run them together on one line, or Nothing to concatenate them with no gap at all.
- 4. Copy the repeated result. Grab the generated block from the output pane and drop it into your test file, placeholder content, or wherever repeated text is needed.
When to use Repeat Text
Repeat Text generates multiple copies of a string without you typing or pasting it over and over. Whether you need dummy rows for a table, a stress-test string for an input field, or a repeated pattern for a design comp, this tool builds it from one entry.
- Generating placeholder rows for a table mockup. You need twenty identical rows of sample data to check how a table component handles repetition before real content is ready. Repeating one line twenty times with Newline separation fills it instantly.
- Stress-testing a text field's character limit. A form's max-length validation needs checking. Repeating a short string hundreds of times with Nothing as the separator produces one long unbroken string to paste into the field.
- Building a chant or repeated lyric line. A poster or slide needs the same phrase repeated for emphasis. Repeating it with Space separation keeps it readable as one flowing line instead of stacked rows.
- Filling a CSV column with a constant value. Every row in a test CSV needs the same status value. Repeating that value with Newline separation gives you a column ready to paste alongside the rest of the data.

About the Repeat Text tool
Repeat Text is a free online tool that works entirely inside your web browser. Repeat text as many times as you need. Because the processing happens on your own device, nothing you enter is uploaded, logged or stored anywhere.
This page is one of 211 Text utilities on EditSafely. Each one does a single job well, and all of them follow the same rule: your input stays on your machine.
You can shape the output with 2 settings, including Times and Separate copies with, and the result refreshes the moment you change one. A worked example further down the page shows exactly what the tool produces for a real input.
Because nothing leaves your device, the tool is suitable for sensitive content such as internal documents, credentials or customer data. It also responds instantly, since every keystroke is handled on your own machine rather than by a remote API.
Frequently asked questions
Does Repeat Text cost anything?
Yes, it is completely free. All 2,658 tools on EditSafely work without an account, a subscription or usage limits.
Is it safe to paste sensitive or confidential data?
No data leaves your device. The whole tool is JavaScript that runs inside your browser tab, so there is no upload, no server-side processing and no log of what you did. If you disconnect from the internet after the page loads, it keeps working.
How much text can I process at once?
There is no fixed limit. Because the work happens on your own device rather than on a shared server, the practical ceiling is your machine's memory, which comfortably handles inputs far larger than typical online tools allow.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
Nothing to install and no account needed. Open the page in any up-to-date browser, including on a phone or tablet, and the tool is ready.
How do I use the result?
The output panel has a one-click copy button, and you can keep refining the input while you work; the result updates in place as you type.
